Karen Selk Silk Workshop

Karen Selk, former owner of Treenway Silk will be teaching her Silken Kaleidoscope Weaving 3 day workshop on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then a 1 day Silk Fusion workshop on Monday. We may also convince her to stay an extra day to offer a lecture on her travels to India to research silk.

The weaving workshop will include a course book which contains substantial information on colour and silk and a variety of silk yarns for the warp and weft. We use 45 different coloured silks, which means the samples are very exciting. Four of the eight weave structures are 8 harness. Depending on the number of participants we will need 8-10 eight harness looms, the rest to be four harness. This is a round robin workshop where people loom hop and weave eight samples. We will have room for 16 participants for the weaving workshop.

The Silk Fusion will be a one day experience with silk fibers, color and design elements with at least 1 or 2 completed projects. There is room for 20 participants in this workshop.

Workshops will be partially underwritten by the Doris Oglander Scholarship fund, allowing the WGSL to offer a real bargain for our members. You don't want to miss these workshops, so save the dates, and your pennies.

For registration contact Dale Pessin at Dale@Pessin.net or 314-392-9999 to reserve your space.
