Beaded Wire Wonders

Cindy Wrobel will be teaching her technique used to make beaded wire sculptures. After working most of her adult life 2-dimensionally as an illustrator and designer, she set out to find her voice in 3-dimensions. Beginning by bending heavy wire to create the structural support, Cindy creates a 3-D line drawing. By using a simple wrapping basket making technique, 24 gauge copper wire, the wire form is covered with a surface of beaded (mostly seed beads) wire that coat the piece in color and texture. Your sculpture can be enhanced with many other materials, such as found objects, and vintage jewelry pieces, once the basic technique is learned.

The session will begin with a brief description of the technique. Cindy will show examples of her work for inspiration. You can then decide whether you prefer to do one of Cindy’s simple shape sculptures or if you feel confident you may create your own sculptural form. This class does not require any previous beading experience. It is a whole new way to look at creating form and embellishing that form with tactile elements.

Experience level: All levels.

Workshop fee- $30.00 member, $40.00 nonmember

plus a Material fee payable to the instructor for $20, this will include wire, beads, and clear

plastic boxes for your seed beads.

Cancellation Policy: A 100% refund until one month prior to the workshop and a 50% refund between 4 and 2 weeks prior. There is no refund for cancellation within 2 weeks of the workshop.
