Linda Beckley has a long-time affiliation with the Weavers’ Guild of St. Louis as a member and a past President.  She a local fiber artist who has taught at the John C. Campbell School.  She is an authority on linen, as she has grown the hemp plant and processed it from ground to garment.

On Saturday March 16, Linda will present a program on Flax to Linen for the guild membership.

That afternoon is the beginning of the workshop.  Linda will be showing us her hand spun linen and describing the differences between what we can spin and what is commercially available.

We will then each use our own warping boards to wind a warp using commercial linen that will be provided.

Sunday, Linda will walk us through the threading process on our looms.  We should have plenty of time to weave samples of fiber from linen to cotton to wool, or whatever you would like to sample.

This workshop is for people who are comfortable dressing their looms in class and up for a challenge!
