WGSL Guild Exhibits and Opening Receptions
 
Timeless Fibers: Tradition and Beyond 
Opening Reception:  September 6th, 6 - 8pm, Gallery Talk at 7pm with participating artists

Location:  The Gallery at University City Public Library 
Gallery hours: M-F 9am-9pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 1pm-5pm

Who: Innovations in Textiles 2019 and Surface Design Association are teaming up to offer you this Bus Tour event to visit several Fiber Art galleries!  Tour guides will help you have a wonderful, worry-free day as you enjoy several exhibitions on display as part of the Innovations in Textiles 2019 event!  The cost includes a delicious box lunch, afternoon refreshments and our WGSL guild members qualify for a member discount that saves you $15! 
 
What: Choose one of five Bus Tours.  See below for tour descriptions.  Tours last 7 hours and include lunch and afternoon refreshments. Each Gallery stop will offer a brief Gallery Talk with jurist and/or gallery artists.     
 
When and Where: October 5th, departure is between 9-10 a.m. from the Clayton Plaza Hotel, 7750 Carondelet.  Departure times vary by bus.
 
Cost: Register through Surface Design Association’s website, use Coupon Code: IT19PARTNER to save $15. This special Coupon Code is for YOU because you’re a member of our organization.  WGSL is an IT19 partner!
The cost to the public is $75.  

With your member discount - YOUR cost is only $60 and includes lunch and afternoon refreshments!
 
Sign up:   Register through Surface Design Association: https://www.surfacedesign.org/events-exhibits/conferences/conference2019/  (see below for directions for ‘how-to-sign-up’ and how to apply your your member discount)  Bus Tour Registrations close September 1st.  SDA will work to match you with your Tour choice. If a bus doesn’t fill, you’ll be assigned to a different bus.  You’ll receive confirmation end of September/first of October.

ORANGE BUS (A) - Student /Educator- Edwardsville:
Features exhibits, a panel discussion, and the opening reception for Future Tense 2019.  Work offers insight by artist/educators, a glimpse into the future of fiber art and work by SDA members.
·         Teach/Taught: Fiber Art Educators, Meramec Contemporary Art Gallery - St. Louis Community College Meramec
·         SDA’s Small Works, all member exhibition, Webster University's Arcade Contemporary Art Projects Gallery
·         SDA Panel Discussion: Figuring It Out: Truths of Being Successful with Rena Wood, Jennifer Reis and Catherine Reinhart; moderated by Andrea Vail. Focus is on students and emerging artists. All are welcome.
·         Future Tense 2019, SDA’s Annual Student Juried Exhibition, Edwardsville Art Center

BLUE BUS (B) - Downtown
Features exhibits with interesting variety from contemporary quilts, fiber art, and avant-garde fashion to new paths of textile explorations.

Features exhibits with an exciting variety of textile techniques and fiber art including altered surfaces, contemporary quilts and rare historic kimonos.

· Then click orange BOX Continue at page bottom.
· Complete Attendee 1 info – First Name, Last Name, Email. Select your Bus Tour Route. Unsure? Click on previous link to Bus Tour Info for galleries on route. Select Lunch. Select Bus Tour Only- $75. Click orange BOX Next.
