The extra long 72 point teeth allow you to include differing fibers, fabric, ribbons, feathers, paper and novelties to create unique blends. The packer brush is adjustable and will control fine, low-crimp fibers and increase the size of the batt. The drum clearance is also adjustable which allows you to set the teeth distance for total control of your fiber. All nylon bearings ensure it is light and easy to turn.
The card cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating and a flexible rubber backing for long life. The doffer and cleaning brush are stored on the carder. Additional Description: It comes with a stand, an 8 dent heddle, threading hook, heddle blocks, some shuttles/pickup sticks and assembly instructions.
It's fully assembled right now but can be easily taken apart for travel. It also folds up. Please note I made a modification to this loom to make it easier to use. (I added a front apron rod and added quarter round to cover the front teeth since they kept snagging my yarn. This makes the Beka function more like a Cricket loom.)
Please also note that this loom was one of the earlier designs which means there are no ratchets on the side beams. Beka sells newer versions of the side beams on their website in case ratchets are desired. You don't need them to weave but it makes it a little easier to advance the warp with them.
The stand can be easily adjusted for the weaver's height and also works with the 22" loom they sell in case you ever decide to upgrade to the wider loom, you wouldn't need to buy a new stand.
There are no clamps for the Beka, so you would have to use your own C-clamps when warping it or tie it to the back of a chair to keep it steady.
